Context

Partners that trade EDI 856 documents often require formatted packaging data to accompany line item information. While NetSuite’s standard Item Fulfillment contains most of the data required for an 856, it does not natively represent the relationship between pallets, cartons, and individual items required by some 856 trading partner guidelines.

Orderful Native Packaging Solution

Orderful’s NetSuite connector contains a set of custom records, fields, and functions to capture the package data required and identify which items and quantities are packed within each package. This solution is perfect for companies setting up NetSuite for the first time or for logistics teams that manually enter or leverage simple automations to pack items. Sometimes, existing configurations, customizations, and integrations may be the source of this data, and NetSuite administrators may want to map existing data to Orderful’s 856 engine.
