Shared Slack Agent

Beta, invite only: get everyday Orderful work done by asking your Orderful agent in the Slack channel you share with Orderful.

🚧

Beta: invite only

The Shared Slack Agent is a beta feature, available only to customers Orderful has invited. What it can do and how it works may change as we improve it, and it may occasionally be slow or unavailable. To ask about access or share feedback, contact your Orderful representative.

If your company has a shared Slack channel with Orderful, you can get help there from the Shared Slack Agent: an AI assistant named after your company, such as Acme Agent. Tag it in the channel with a question or a request, and it looks up the answer in your Orderful account or does the work for you, then replies in the same thread.

It's built for the everyday things you'd otherwise do in the Orderful app or ask your onboarding team: checking whether a document arrived, finding out why one was rejected, seeing where you stand with a trading partner, or starting a connection with a new one.

What you can use it for

  • Answers about your account. Your EDI account and ISA ID, your trading partners, which documents you exchange with each of them, and how your connections are set up.
  • Transaction help. Whether a purchase order, invoice, or ship notice arrived or was delivered, and why a document failed validation, field by field, with how to fix it.
  • Partner onboarding. Where you are with each partner (setup, testing, or go-live), what's done, what's next, and who it's waiting on.
  • Finding partners. Whether a company is a trading partner on Orderful, its ISA ID, and its published requirements and programs, one partner at a time.
  • Changes, with your approval. Sending a trade request, creating a test document, resending a transaction, or asking Orderful to update a guideline or mapping. The agent always shows you exactly what it's about to do and waits for you to confirm.

See What the Agent Can Do for the full list.

How it works

  1. Someone in the channel mentions the agent, for example @Acme Agent where are we with testing for our new distributor?
  2. The agent reacts with 👀 to show it's working on the request.
  3. It reads the whole thread for context, looks up what it needs in your Orderful account, and replies in the thread, usually within a couple of minutes.
  4. For anything that changes your setup or sends something to a partner, it posts a proposal first. Nothing happens until the person who asked replies with a mention and the word confirm. See Approve Changes.
📘

The agent works only on your company's Orderful account. It can't see or change other companies' accounts, and it never shares information about other Orderful customers. See Privacy, Security, and Limits.

About the beta

The Shared Slack Agent is in beta. During the beta:

  • It's invite only. Orderful turns the agent on for selected customers who already have a shared Slack channel with Orderful. If you're interested, ask your Orderful representative.
  • It will change. We're adding and adjusting what the agent can do based on how customers use it. These pages describe how it works today.
  • There's no guaranteed response time. The agent usually replies within a couple of minutes, but it may occasionally be slow or unavailable. For anything urgent, especially issues affecting live orders, contact your Orderful team directly.
  • Check what matters. The agent uses AI and works from live data, but it can make mistakes. Confirm important details in the Orderful app before acting on them.
  • Your feedback shapes it. Tell your Orderful representative, or post in your shared channel, what worked and what didn't.
